Sept 15-Oct 5, 2024 North Woods Trip

Hello again everyone! It has been a while since I have posted on this website. We are still doing well. This fall we took a trip up through Northern Minnesota, and to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

(Come January we will head down to the Gulf Coast for the rest of the winter. Tampa and Panama City Beach Florida; Gulf shores Alabama, Biloxi Mississippi, and then to Texas)

Whitefish Point Lighthouse and Shipwreck Museum. Off the shore of Whitefish Point is where the Edmund Fitzgerald ore carrier (immortalized by the Gordon Lightfoot song) sank in 1975. There have been over 240 ships lost off of Whitefish point

Onward to St Ignace Michigan and Mackinac Island! We are getting Visitors for the first time. Robyn’s sister Debby and her husband Ben are joining us. Ben’s son Ryan is going to school and playing hockey at Ben’s Alma mater, Lake Superior State University at Sault Ste Marie

Arrrr Matey!!!, When Ben and Debby left, we needed to rest, so we took a wine tour of the Petrosky wine region of Michigan.

Hurley Wisconsin. We came through here to meet up with a friend of mine who now lives in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. I worked with him when we were both with Marathon, He was a truck terminal manager at several terminals in the Bakken. Was great to see Rick and his wife Jill and catch up!

Time to push home and catch the UND/NDSU football game in Fargo on the way.
